November 16, 2007. Northpoint first batch of trainees got their first taste of Call Center Agent experience last November 16 when they had their field trip in Bacolod City Call Centers. First, they visited Focus along Lacson St. where they were warmly welcomed by their Team Leader through the courtesy of Engr. Julie Dizon. There, the trainees were introduced to various facilities that focused on contact center activities.
After Focus, they went to Teleperformance which is located in the former Convention Plaza Hotel. Teleperformance is one of the largest call canters in Bacolod City. There, again the hosts were so generous to open all their centers that re: Sprint, Travel Destinations, & Motorola. They also had the chance to listen to customers, to observe Call agents answer quiries and to share with supervisors or team leaders assist the agents. Indeed, the trainees were so glad that what they learned at NILC were equally important in their quest for call center jobs.
Lastly, they visited Teletech in front of Bacolod City Airport. They were greeted by no other than Cathy Dominguez, the Talent Acquisition coordinator (TA). Again, they were guided through different sections of the center.

October 25. Congressman Ignacio Arroyo of the 5th district of Negros Occidental, transformed the Binalbagan Covered Court into a hub of job seekers for Call Center Agents needed by the CyberCity Services located at the Clark Industrial Park, Pampanga.
It was an opportunity for NILC to campaign for trainees. We’ve found out that out of the hundreds of interviewees, unfortunately, only 14 passed the job interview.
With such dismal result, NILC decided to level up our campaign within the area and communicate with local Call Centers so that we could establish a partnership with them that would enable us to determine the exact job expectations they require for Call Center Agent applicants.
October 15th marked the first day of school with eleven (11) students from all walks of life: eager, shy, quiet, boisterous, and funny! They came full of nervous anticipation of what they would go through their next 5-week training. However, all this nervous anticipation was dampened and the class came into energized life when their very competent instructor, Ms. Jennifer Morales, a former Call Center Agent and a part time professor of the University of St. Salle, Bacolod City, came in and did the Power Point Presentations of the center : its ideals, vision, and mission.
With the technical support of Ms. Mary Delle Obedoza, our IT Specialist, the class was able to manipulate the computers and did some pronunciation drills using the valuable Clear Speech exercises. For more information, please visit our website @ www.northpoint.com.ph .
